Like it sounds, but with cheese.
Get: - 1 bosche pear
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 red onion
- tamari almonds (or salted roasted almonds)
- goat cheese (herbed if you like, mmm)
- fresh pomegranate seeds
- oil & balsamic vinegar (for dressing)
Do: - slice the red onion into thin rings, to garnish
- cube pear and avocado
- salt the avocado a bit if it's not sufficiently delicious. It does need to be basically ripe though.
- plate mixture with a glop of goat cheese in the center
- place almonds on top of the cheese
- place pomegranate seeds with the almonds in the center
- garnish with circlets of red onion
- chill and serve
Results: - Makes two generous salads, or 4 small salads
- The avocado was not nearly as weird as it sounds, tasted okay in the salad and went with the cheese
- The dressing was fine, if unimaginative
