- Scrub the outside of the potatoes, then half them lengthwise. Cut each half into french-fry-thickness slabs, then cut each slab into raw french fries.
- Soak the raw fries in cold water for a few minutes to remove the earthy taste.
- Bring a frying pan up to high temperature, melting the butter as it warms up.
- Drop the fries into the pan, stirring them quite a bit to make sure the outside of each fry is coated with butter.
- Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn brown.
- Remove from heat. Add salt (or seasoned salt) and stir again to coat.
- Eat!
