french fries

  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  1. Scrub the outside of the potatoes, then half them lengthwise. Cut each half into french-fry-thickness slabs, then cut each slab into raw french fries.
  2. Soak the raw fries in cold water for a few minutes to remove the earthy taste.
  3. Bring a frying pan up to high temperature, melting the butter as it warms up.
  4. Drop the fries into the pan, stirring them quite a bit to make sure the outside of each fry is coated with butter.
  5. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn brown.
  6. Remove from heat. Add salt (or seasoned salt) and stir again to coat.
  7. Eat!
