Fried cornbread cakes

These could also be cornbread waffles!

Get:
  • x

Do:
  • make the batter
  • a little extra buttermilk, and a little extra water
  • butter instead of bacon fat
  • pour a cup of canola oil into a wok and heat above med
  • use 1/4th cup for each spoonful
  • fried for 4-5 minutes? 3 mins per side?

  • they burn after about 2 minutes in the oil on medium-ish, but don't cook enough?
