It's what it sounds like.
Get- 1 package of bacon
- 2 yellow onions
- shallot
- garlic
- lemon
- 4 large tomatoes
- 2 cans cannelloni beans
- squash (garnish)
Do: - 5:35pm: saute one pound of bacon in soup pot
- 5:45pm: remove bacon, set aside
- 5:45pm: soften 3 red onions, chopped
- 5:55pm: add 3 cloves minced garlic
- 5:58: dice bacon, add to soup
- 6:00: drain beans, add to soup
- 6:02: add canned tomato to soup without draining
- 6:10: dice fresh tomato, add to soup
- 6:13: add dry thyme to soup
- 6:15: cover, simmer on medium low
- 6:20: slice 3 yellow squash, thick
- 6:27: coarsely chop 1 yellow onion
- 6:30: soften yellow onion with 1tbsp butter, salt, pepper
- 6:40: set aside onion
- 6:50: brown sliced squash with butter
- 7:00: plate yellow onion and squash in bowl
- 7:03: blend soup with emersion blender
- 7:05: season soup with whatever (thyme, chili, cayenne, salt, pepper)
Result: - yellow onions not cooked enough in bowl; too crunchy
- submerged squash was too large, ridiculous to cram into my mouth. should have cut it at least in half
- rosemary sprigs for decoration got submerged in the soup, which is silly
- soup was nicely flavored, but really needed lemon
